New Forms of Operation
How can we improve still further the quality of cultural heritage work in the future?
Is it possible to find better, more innovative ways to use the industrial cultural heritage as a resource?
What will happen to ISKA after 2005?
ISKA is working to find forms of operation which can bear forward the ISKA concept even after the framework programme period is over. The aim is to make use of the collaboration which arises through the ISKA project, often transcending traditional boundaries and sectoral demarcations in the community. The ISKA project brings together people from voluntarily organisations and business, as well as heritage institutions such as archives, libraries and museums. This encounter gives rise to opportunities to find new forms for co-ordination and planning of heritage initiatives in the future.
Through these opportunities, new ways to run operations relating to cultural heritage can emerge and develop.
We are certain that the user perspective and new technology will characterise these forms of operation. It is important to find new methods for work with cultural heritage that correspond better to peoples needs in today's society.
ISKA Framework Programme puts focus on existing regional forms of operation and seeks ways to involve new players. International collaboration on research and development is another important goal.
